Guide Overview

What you will learn

Simple setup guides for adding eye-catching ASCII text, image, and motion sections in Elementor or the WordPress editor.

Elementor widgets tutorial

Follow these steps to add ASCII-style text, images, and motion to an Elementor page.

01 Install and activate Elementor.

ASCIIfy widgets need Elementor. Go to Plugins -> Add New, search for Elementor, then install and activate it.

02 Open a page in Elementor.

Create a new page or open an existing one, then click Edit with Elementor.

03 Find the ASCIIfy widgets.

Search for ASCIIfy in the Elementor sidebar to find the text, image, and video widgets.

04 Add the text widget for standout headings.

Type your text, pick a built-in style, and adjust color and size in the Style tab.

The preview updates as you work, so it is easy to test ideas.

05 Add the image widget for creative visuals.

Choose an image from the Media Library, decide whether you want color or a simpler monochrome look, and adjust the detail level.

Images with a clear subject and good contrast usually look best.

06 Add the video widget for moving ASCII scenes.

Choose a short video and set the playback options you want.

On the live page, the video becomes a moving ASCII effect. Short, clear clips usually feel best.

07 Preview and publish the page.

Use Preview to check the live result, then Publish when the page looks right.

08 Use a few simple design tips.
  • Use full-width sections when you want big visual impact
  • Dark backgrounds often help ASCII text stand out
  • Start with short video clips for smoother motion
  • Use clear subject images for better results
  • Keep surrounding page copy simple so the effect has room to shine

WordPress editor tutorial

Follow these steps to add ASCII-style sections with the WordPress editor.

01 Open the WordPress editor.

Create a new page or open an existing one for editing. No extra builder is required for the ASCIIfy blocks.

02 Find the ASCIIfy blocks.

Click the plus inserter, search for ASCIIfy, then add the text, image, or video block you want.

03 Use the text block for bold headings.

Enter your text, pick a built-in style, and adjust color and size in the sidebar.

The editor shows a live preview while you work.

04 Use the image block for stylized visuals.

Choose an image from the Media Library, then adjust the look until the ASCII effect feels right for the page.

05 Use the video block for motion.

Choose a video file or paste a video link, then set the playback options you want.

On the live page, the block becomes a moving ASCII scene. Short clips usually feel smoother.

06 Preview and publish your page.

Use Preview to verify the live result, then Publish when you are happy with it.

07 Use a few simple design tips.
  • Use Wide or Full width when you want more impact
  • Place the block on a dark background if you want a retro terminal feel
  • Start with short clips for smoother motion
  • Use clear subject images for stronger image effects
  • Keep nearby text simple so the visual treatment can stand out

Need a Smooth Setup?

Keep each step short and easy to test.

Start with the basic setup, check the result on the live page, and only then move into optional settings. If something depends on browser support or another plugin, call that out before the user gets stuck.
